Herbs, which are known as well-known spices, such as thyme, rosemary, mint and clove are now becoming organic agriculture’s important weapons against insect pests for fruits and veggies. Most of the consumers are preferring the fruits and veggies produced in more natural ways.
The study presented at American Chemical Society’s National Meeting, reported that these herbs are new class of natural insecticides that show promise as an environmentally-friendly alternative to conventional pesticides and also poses less risk to human and animal health.
These new pesticides are a mixture of two or four different species in small amounts diluted in water. Some of these pesticides kill the insects outright and some others repel them.
