Most of the population will assume that installing any sort of home based energy source in their new home will be too expensive and quite impractical. However, it does not have to be, many people have homes that are very energy efficient using a variety of natural resources like the sun and the wind.
In fact, an average sized American home can be served, by either a wind generator or solar panels for as little as two hundred dollars. More and more individuals are enjoying cheaper utility bills and a much more efficient system than you may imagine.
Living in a wind swept exposed situation can be turned into a real bonus once you see the wind turbine spinning around saving you hundreds of dollars. Harness the power of nature to boil a kettle and if you have any spare electricity many companies will take it off your hands, paying you a few dollars to boot.
Imagine being self sufficient in electricity, you will never have to see, let alone pay another power bill ever again. The good thing is that it is not difficult to set up and in most cases a house hold’s average tool kit will have everything that you need to do the job yourself.
For those in more sheltered areas, solar panels will heat your house or keep it cool in the hotter months, all from the rays of the sun. You don’t need to worry about your new system being inadequate at certain times of the year. An additional source can be set up or your old company will top up your electricity supply as required.
